A twist from the Bills head coach after the time of publishing this article. Thursday will be the first day the Bills put out an official injury report.

The Buffalo Bills received some bad news on Wednesday.

Bills head coach Sean McDermott announced that Micah Hyde will not practice because he is "dealing with a few different things," Syracuse.com's Matt Parrino reports. He added that it appears to mainly be a back issue.

McDermott did not say whether this will keep him out long-term, instead saying that they are taking in day by day.

Hyde was sidelined last year due to a neck injury he suffered in Week 2, being placed on injured reserve shortly after. After an entire season away, he was ready to return to the game and prove himself, but it's unknown whether this will start in the Bills season opener.

Because of the injury, Hyde was also left off the list of top ten safeties in the league, providing him with an additional chip on his shoulder.

Combine that with this current setback and Hyde has all the ammunition needed to have a standout season.

Hyde had his best season in 2021, finishing with 74 total tackles, one sack, one forced fumble, two fumble recovery, five interceptions, and one interception.

Across his 10 seasons in the NFL, beginning his career with the Green Bay Packers, Hyde has a total of 590 tackles, five sacks, four forced fumbles, six fumble recoveries, 22 interceptions, and one touchdown.

All eyes will be on Hyde as the Bills hope to get their star safety back as soon as possible.
