It's been a tough week playing the waiting game for the Detroit Lions and left tackle Taylor Decker. The Lions veteran offensive lineman walked out of Arrowhead Stadium with a walking boot on Thursday.
Since then, he's missed practice on Tuesday and Wednesday. Unfortunately, you can add Thursday to that list as Taylor Decker has missed his third practice this week. Interestingly enough, he didn't appear to even be at Allen Park Thursday. At least not during the portion that the media is allowed to observe.
There's always Friday, but right now it's hard to see anything other than Taylor Decker missing Sunday's game against the Seahawks. It's not very often that a player misses a week of practice and then winds up playing. We'll know for sure when Friday designations come out.
Until then, it's safe to say that Matt Nelson will be playing left tackle for the Lions on Sunday. I know there are some that think the Lions should shift Penei Sewell to the left and then start Halapoulivaati Vaitai at right tackle and Graham Glasgow and right guard. That would make sense if this were a long term thing, but this seems liek something that could back to normal next week. So I don't see a lot of flux happening there like that.
Nelson has started before and he did alright. We'll see how he does Sunday.
