You read that title correctly. The Detroit Lions currently have the highest graded quarterback in the league according to Pro Football Focus. His name is Jared Goff and he is not a bridge quarterback. 

Goff grades out at 90.6 on the site this week. That's insane. This guy wasn't even supposed to be here that long. Everyone was talking about bridges and drafting Justin Fields or Anthony Richardson. He's the top dog right now and it's just crazy to see. 

Lamar Jackson is in second with an 89.3 grade. Another big note here is that the next highest graded NFC quarterback is Matthew Stafford. The guy that Goff got traded to Detroit for. 

Goff has been very good this season and is playing like an NFL MVP candidate. Through five games he's thrown for 1,265 yards, nine touchdowns and three interceptions. He's completing 69.8% of his passes and has a rating of 104.4. 

There was thought thought on Sunday that his great game against the Panthers could push him even higher up the grade rankings, but number one wasn't on anyone's mind. This truly has been a wild season so far. Let's see if he can hold onto it.
