This looked like a tough game for the Detroit Lions all week. The Buccaneers are one hell of a football team. The Lions were able to go in and do their thing despite a slow start on offense and they got the job done with a 20-6 win. With the Eagles and 49ers losses, the Lions are now tied for the best record in the NFL.

As always, I have thoughts on this game. These are those thoughts.

Jared Goff Report

Goff goes out and has another big game. He was dealing on Sunday against the Bucs. Especially late in the game when the Lions ran down the clock in the fourth quarter. He spread the ball around too. Goff threw to 11 different receivers in this game. He finished the day with 353 yards and two touchdowns. He completed 68.2% of his passes as well.

Defense

The Lions defense stepped up to the plate today against a pretty good offense and they shut them down completely. They add a sixth straight game of keeping teams under 100 rushing yards and they, for the most part, kept big plays off the board in the pass game. This defense is for real people. The sky is the limit if they keep playing this way.

Amon-Catch St. Catch

Amon-Ra St. Brown went off in this game. He had a a career high 12 catches for 124 yards and a touchdown. The touchdown was sweet. We'll get to that in a second. What was really sweet was Goff just going to St. Brown over and over again in the 4th quarter on a drive that ate up over six minutes of time. That's what happens when a guy is reliable.

Now let's talk about that touchdown.

Netflix and block

Craig Reynolds has been so impressive this season. It's been a lot of little things. He had a great special teams tackle against the Packers, Ran the clock out on the Panthers and then this week, he hits this huge block that lead to a Lions touchdown. You have to love watching a role player out there playing his role. Just getting things done. Reynolds had a big 28 yard catch later on too.

Anzatackleeverybody

Alex Anzalone is having the best season of his career right now. He was was everywhere on Sunday. Tackles for loss, passes deflected and just regular old fashion tackles. He finished the Panthers game with a career high 11 tackles and then came out on Sunday against the Bucs and got nine tackles. Just stacking great performances.

TFJ

This tackle needs to be highlighted. Jacobs does a really good job of getting around the receiver here and then makes the tackle for loss. This is the kind of thing that's going to keep Jacobs in the starting lineup for a long time.

That's why Jamo is here

Nobody needed this more than this kid. It's been a tumultuous time for him since he got drafted. The injury, the suspension, the other injury and all the bad talk. It makes it all worth it to see Williams go out there and do what you expected from him. Here's hoping we see a lot more for a long more time.

Many-a-20

The Lions have scored at least 20 points in their last 15 games. That's a franchise record. It might seem like a big deal when you think about it, but it is. We're just seeing the Lions do things that they've never done before. That's a big deal for a fan base that maybe felt like they never would.
