NFL MVP is the award that steals the show every year at NFL Honors.
But if you talk to players around the league, no honor is more prestigious than the Walter Payton Man of the Year.
Steelers legend Cam Heyward just got his sixth nomination, and he hopes to bring home the hardware in what may be one of his final chances:
A Proud Mom
For the sixth year, and the third in a row, defensive tackle Cameron Heyward is the Steelers nominee for the Walter Payton NFL Man of the Year, presented by Nationwide. The award recognizes a player's off-the-field community service, as well as his playing excellence. -Teresa Varley, Steelers
"Pittsburgh has meant so much to my family," Heyward told Steelers.Com "To get to play in this league right next door to where my dad started his football career has been really special. It's important to me to give back to this community that has blessed my family in so many ways."
A lifer in the black and gold, Heyward will likely finish his career in Pittsburgh as one of the greatest players to ever suit up for the Steelers.
And while Heyward is still playing at a very high level, especially when you consider he turned 34 in May, it's safe to say he's on the back nine of his career.
So with one year left on his contract, there is a chance, all be it unlikely, that this is Heyward's last shot at the league's most prestigious award.
Hopefully he wins it this go-round, as it's hard to imagine a player more deserving than Cam.
