Cleveland doesn’t necessarily have QB Joe Flacco set up for success in Week 14.
The 38-year-old quarterback will have backup offensive tackles on both sides of the line protecting him. News broke yesterday that RT Dawand Jones was downgraded to out against the Jacksonville Jaguars, while LT Jedrick Wills Jr. remains on the injured reserve.
Fortunately for Cleveland and Flacco, WR Amari Cooper will be able to give it a go today.
Cooper cleared concussion protocol yesterday after not being able to be a full participant in practice all week. The Browns having their No. 1 wide receiver who is on pace for another 1,000-yard season is a win.
Out at least one more week for the Browns is CB Denzel Ward, who missed the last couple of games with a shoulder injury. While the Jaguars won’t have WR Christian Kirk, they will have WR Calvin Ridley to worry about in the passing game. It was easily noticed what the loss of Ward did to this defense, he will be welcomed back with open arms when he can return.
It is quite the surprise that Ward will not play after practicing Friday, but one more week off should have him feeling even better in Week 15.
Browns inactive list:
CB Denzel Ward
LB Mohamoud Diabate
C Luke Wypler
DE Isaiah McGuire
DT Siaki Ika
OT Dawand Jones
