Cincinnati Bengals edge defender Trey Hendrickson can add Pro Football Writers of America (PFWA) All-NFL honors to his list of accomplishments from the 2023 season.
Hendrickson was named to the PFWA All-NFL team at his position, joining Cleveland Browns edge defender Myles Garrett.
This is the second time in Hendrickson's career he's been honored by the PFWA, the first being back in 2020.
Only one player in the NFL had more sacks than Hendrickson's 17.5, and it was fellow PFWA All-NFL honoree T.J. Watt of the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Hendrickson was one of three edges along with Garrett and PFWA All-NFC honoree Micah Parsons to rank in the top 10 in both overall pass rush win percentage (20.8%) and pass rush win percentage against true pass sets (26.7%) according to Pro Football Focus.
Hendrickson was voted to the 2023 Pro Bowl for his incredible season, but only received seven votes for the AP All-Pro list. He missed out on both First and Second Team honors despite nearly leading the league in sacks after two great years preceding this season.
This honor may not make up for getting snubbed by the AP, but it does provide validation for what was a stellar campaign by the Bengals' best defensive player.
