The Tennessee Titans are expected to hire Baltimore Ravens defensive backs coach Dennard Wilson as their new defensive coordinator, according to The Athletic’s Dianna Russini.
The Titans had been on the lookout for a new defensive coordinator. They interviewed multiple candidates for the position, including Wilson, who they touched base with twice.
Wilson joined the Ravens as a defensive backs coach in March. He went on to closely work with multiple defensive backs on the team, including Geno Stone. Stone emerged as an unsung hero for the Ravens on the defensive side of the ball, tallying 68 total tackles and seven interceptions in the regular season this year.
Wilson garnered defensive coordinator interest from several teams. Among them, the New York Giants conducted two interviews with the defensive-minded coach regarding their defensive coordinator vacancy.
Wilson reportedly was "an option" to replace now-former Ravens defensive coordinator Mike Macdonald, who agreed to become the new head coach for the Seattle Seahawks on Wednesday.
Wilson is set to work with Titans head coach Brian Callahan in what will be a new era for the AFC South side.
