The Detroit Lions have wasted no time getting to work at the 2024 NFL Combine. They have already started formal meetings with players and while most of those names haven't come out yet, we know one that they have met with and that's Western Michigan edge rusher Marshawn Kneeland.
Kneeland is someone that AtoZ Detroit readers should be familiar with. We mocked Kneeland to the Lions in the third round of our pre-combine mock draft and then wrote about him again on Tuesday when we were asked to give the name of our top pick for the Lions third-round pick.
Kneeland had a big season for the Broncos in 2023 that saw him notch six sacks in 10 games. He also showed out at the Senior Bowl with his speed. Zebra Sports had him as the fastest defensive lineman in Mobile that week.
Kneeland is currently expected to be a third-round prospect, but there's a solid chance that after the combine, when he shows his athleticism, he could find himself up in the second round. Time will tell us sooner than later.
