The Green Bay Packers received the best news possible on Wednesday. Quarterback Jordan Love is back at practice twelve days after suffering a knee injury in week 1 against the Philadelphia Eagles, in Brazil.
It's not a guarantee that he will be available to play against the Tennessee Titans on Sunday, but this is obviously a good sign. Love was officially listed as a limited participant.
"He was limited," head coach Matt LaFleur said multiple times when asked about how much Love had done. "It's always great to have your quarterback out there. But we'll see how he progresses throughout the course of the week."
Last week, Jordan Love missed all three practices ahead of the Indianapolis Colts game. He was listed as questionable to play on Friday, but downgraded to doubtful on Saturday. Malik Willis started the game, and the Packers won, improving to 1-1 in the season.
Love suffered an MCL sprain. His projected return timeline was from three to six weeks. However, it seems like he's on track to beat that projection. ESPN's Rob Demovsky reported earlier this week that Love had a real shot to play against the Colts, which boded well for his chances at playing in week 3.
Head coach Matt LaFleur said he would want to give Love some practice reps before his return, because the quarterback hadn't played for almost two weeks.
The bad
But there are also bad pieces of news on the injury front for the Packers. Wide receiver Jayden Reed, right guard Jordan Morgan, and left guard Elgton Jenkins didn't participate in practice. Cornerback Carrington Valentine went through the stretch part, but stayed inside when the rest of the team went to the field.
Defensive tackle Kenny Clark, defensive end Kingsley Enagbare, running back Josh Jacobs, tight end Tucker Kraft, center Josh Myers, right tackle Zach Tom, and left tackle Rasheed Walker were all limited.
According to LaFleur, recovery is a big part of the coaching staff's plans for the week.
