2026 four-star offensive tackle Sam Greer is a recruit that the Tennessee Vols are hoping they can steal out of the state of Ohio.

Greer, 6-foot-6/310 lbs from Akron, OH, is rated in 247Sports' composite rankings as the No. 15 offensive tackle in the nation and the No. 7 player in the state of Ohio.

Florida, Georgia, Missouri, Ohio State, and Wisconsin are among the programs that are in hot pursuit of the massive 2026 offensive lineman.

The Vols are in the mix in large part because of how impressed Greer was with the atmosphere at Neyland Stadium last season.

“Love Tennessee’s offense and how they really spread the field and take advantage of it all,” said Greer to On3 this week. “It’s also one of the best and most electrifying stadiums in college football.”

Greer visited Tennessee last season for the Vols' thrilling win against the Alabama Crimson Tide.

Any time that Tennessee and Alabama meet in Neyland Stadium it provides for an absolutely electric environment. And the 2024 matchup between the two iconic programs was no exception.

Nico Iamaleava's game-winning touchdown pass to Chris Brazzell in the fourth quarter was easily one of the best moments of the 2024 season for the Volunteers.

That's certainly a moment that made an impact on every recruit that was in Neyland Stadium for the game against Alabama.

There's still a long way to go in Greer's recruitment, and it'll be tough to swipe him out of the midwest, but it's clear that his visit to Rocky Top last fall made a big impression on him. Tennessee will continue to pursue the talented offensive lineman as they look to beef up their 2026 recruiting class (which is currently ranked No. 6 in the nation).
