One of the craziest rumors from the Nico Iamaleava Tennessee Vols/UCLA Bruins transfer drama in April involved Dan Lanning and the Oregon Ducks.
ESPN's Pete Thamel reported earlier this spring that Iamaleava's camp reached out to Oregon about potentially transferring before the start of spring practice.
The rumor is that Lanning and the Ducks then informed Tennessee head coach Josh Heupel that Iamaleava was being shopped.
From ESPN: Tennessee was aware that Iamaleava’s representatives had reached out to at least one other school, Oregon, prior to the start of spring practice, sources told ESPN, but Oregon said it wasn’t interested.

Lanning was asked about that report in April, but he declined to offer a comment.
"I'm not getting into anything else, but let's talk about (Oregon's) scrimmage today," said Lanning with a bit of a smile after a spring practice. "The Ducks worked really hard at the scrimmage today."
On Thursday, while appearing on behalf of UCLA at Big 10 Media Days, Iamaleava was asked about the Oregon rumors.
"I don't know where all that comes from," said Iamaleava when asked about Oregon. "I'm hearing it from you guys just like you guys are hearing it. With all of that situation, I'm just focused on football and let my business side of the team handle those [things]."
"No animosity, man," added Iamaleava. "I knew Dan Lanning when he was recruiting me at Oregon. I have nothing but respect for Coach Dan Lanning. Whatever he speaks on a situation, I really don't pay any mind to it."
Unfortunately for fans, Iamaleava and the Bruins aren't scheduled to play the Ducks in 2025.
