Tennessee Vols true freshman wide receiver Travis Smith went semi-viral on Thursday for absolutely cooking UT wide receivers coach Kelsey Pope during a rep.

Pope, who was a wide receiver at Samford from 2010 to 2013, lined up against Smith during a drill.

Smith, who has elite size at 6-foot-3/210 lbs, quickly tossed Pope through the air as he got his release off the line of scrimmage.

I’m sure the wide receiver room will have some fun with that tape during film review.

Smith has a chance to play a key role in the Vols’ offense this fall with Tennessee’s lack of experience at the position.

For now, Chris Brazzell, Mike Matthews, and Braylon Staley are expected to be the Vols’ top wide receiver options.

Smith, however, is already pushing for a spot right behind that group.
