‘I kept quiet’ – Cowboys legend Dez Bryant inserts himself into the Micah Parsons situation with threat aimed toward Jerry Jones
Dez didn’t appreciate being mentioned by Jerry Jones.
It’s no secret Dez Bryant and the Dallas Cowboys had some issues during the wide receiver’s playing days, and even in 2025, they keep popping up here and there.
Amid the drama surrounding Micah Parsons’ recent trade request, owner Jerry Jones brought back some of those complicated feelings between Bryant and the organization, and it resulted in the former All-Pro sending a threat through social media.
“Jerry Jones, I don’t think it’s smart to mention my name,” Bryant wrote in all-caps on X, formerly known as Twitter. “I kept quiet about a lot of unfair (expletive). On some G (expletive)… We can have story time if that’s what we’re doing.”
What prompted the heated message was Jones’ comments earlier while discussing the situation with Parsons. The Cowboys owner—who maintains he had an agreement with Micah in March after he talked to him without his agent present—was talking about why he tries to avoid agents in negotiations with high-profile players. In an attempt to justify his approach, he told the media an anecdote about Bryant and Jay-Z, which he had told earlier in the offseason.
“Because the agent—when we have a problem with the team and a player—I don’t ever find the agent,” Jones said when asked why he didn’t reach out to Parsons’ agent. “He’s nowhere to be found. Jay-Z said that Dez would make all meetings. Jay-Z and I negotiated the contract—we spent hours negotiating it. And he said, ‘Anybody in my organization is on time.’ He said, ‘My office used to be on the street corner, and I’ve always been early, so they will be on time.’ I said, “Where do I sign? But I’m going to call you.’ Finally, he quit taking my calls.”
Bryant didn’t appreciate being named out of left field. In another post, he added:
“Y’all don’t understand the amount of (expletive) I let slide… do not mention my name about (expletive). The love hate relationship is real!”
Earlier in the week, Dez posted a video showing his support for Micah Parsons and standing up to the front office.
