The Tennessee Vols are reportedly willing to outspend the Georgia Bulldogs and the Ohio State Buckeyes in the battle for an elite 2026 five-star recruit.

Tennessee is pushing hard to land a commitment from 2026 five-star running back Savion Hiter.

Hiter, 5-foot-11/200 lbs from Mineral, VA, is rated in 247Sports’ composite rankings as the No. 1 running back in the nation. He’s set to announce his commitment on August 19.

Michigan, Georgia, Ohio State, and Tennessee are the four teams in the mix for Hiter.

It’s Michigan and Tennessee, though, that are viewed as the top two contenders for the five-star running back. And that’s because those two programs are willing to spend more in NIL/revenue sharing than Georgia and Ohio State.

“Georgia and Ohio State still have Hiter on their radar, and both would love to land him, but sources said that neither is willing to do what Michigan and Tennessee are talking about from a revenue-sharing/NIL standpoint,” reported 247Sports national recruiting analyst Brian Dohn.

On3’s Steve Wilftong noted this week that he believes Michigan is in a “strong position” for Hiter. Wiltfong, however, added that “nobody knows what he’s going to do”, while also pointing out that Tennessee is giving Hiter a lot to think about.

It sounds like the Vols are doing everything they can to land Hiter, but this battle is likely going to come down to where the Virginia native feels the most comfortable.

Seldon, however, never made a real impact […]
