Bills avoid major disaster after All-Pro defender is forced off the field due to injury in first preseason game
Bills Mafia were more than a little concerned.
It’s no secret that the Buffalo Bills have an injury bug plaguing this team. With multiple starters out, while it is preseason, it’s a little worrying to say the least.
Despite that, the team provided an exciting update before the matchup against the Giants began that gave the Bills Mafia a big reason to celebrate.
However, the celebration was short-lived as during the first quarter of the contest, All-Pro slot CB Taron Johnson went down with a scary injury.
Johnson exploded, lowering his shoulder and taking down the tight end at the line of scrimmage. Immediately after, refs could be seen following Johnson before he took a knee on the field, where team trainers rushed in to check on him.

Johnson went on to spend some time in the blue medical tent, which had the Bills Mafia more than a little concerned.
While it’s unclear if it was anything more than a concussion, reports quickly followed indicating that Johnson had passed the concussion protocol and was seen on the sidelines supporting his team. Selfishly, I hope that his day is done.
With the current injuries on the roster, having Johnson go down would be a massive blow to an already depleted defense.
We’ll wait to hear from Sean McDermott after the contest for a more concrete update from the team regarding his injury. Fingers crossed that it’s nothing serious and Johnson won’t miss any time; the team will need him.
