Kalen DeBoer and Alabama Crimson Tide continue to set the tone for top recruit who has been a priority target for a very long time
Alabama continuing to lead for priority 2027 recruit
It feels like the Alabama Crimson Tide have been recruiting 2027 Alabaster (Al.) Thompson quarterback Trent Seaborn forever, having originally offered him during his freshman year. Since then, both head coach Nick Saban and Kalen DeBoer have valued him tremendously. Coach DeBoer has continued the program’s hard push, and appears to still be the front runner for the talented signal caller.
Alabama isn’t the only program, however, that has been pushing hard for Seaborn. Some other programs to know include Oregon, Miami, Auburn, and South Carolina. Seaborn is finalizing travel plans this season, and those trips could go a long way toward getting closer to a decision.
In an interview with Rivals national recruiting analyst Chad Simmons, he updated Seaborn’s recruitment and where things stand currently. Here is what the talented passer had to say about the Crimson Tide, a program he knows well.
Alabama: “I’ve been to Alabama over 10 times. Coach DeBoer had to fill tremendous shoes and he has done a great job. I like what he’s doing. Coach Grubb is now there with Coach Sheridan, and my relationship with them is strong. I can’t wait to see their offense under Coach Grubb.”

Compared to all the other schools that Seaborn is considering, he has been to Tuscaloosa more than anyone, and by a healthy margin. Alabama will hope to impress him this season during another visit, and hope to close this recruitment out.
Seaborn is considered to be a four-star recruit by each of the major recruiting platforms. On the 247 Sports Composite ranking, he is ranked as the No. 239 overall player, No. 19 quarterback, and No. 6 player in the state of Alabama for the 2027 recruiting class. With the Crimson Tide already holding a commitment from in-state standout EDGE Jabarrius Garror, they are hoping to keep more talent at home.
The 6-1, 200-pound passer has continued to be pursued by some of the top programs in all of college football. Some of Seaborn’s best offers include the Crimson Tide, Georgia, Oregon, Michigan, LSU, Tennessee, Ole Miss, Miami, Clemson, Nebraska, Auburn, South Carolina, Missouri, Florida State, UNC, Washington, Wisconsin, Arizona State, Arkansas, Kentucky, West Virginia, Vanderbilt, Maryland, Georgia Tech, and Mississippi State among others.
The Alabama native has been a productive passer for Thompson since he was a freshman. As a junior in 2024, Seaborn threw for 2,675 yards and 26 touchdowns while adding another 256 yards and a score on the ground, throwing just seven interceptions in total and completing 72 percent of his passes. In total, Seaborn enters his senior year with 68 career touchdown passes.
