Chiefs’ Travis Kelce gets payback with his best Patrick Mahomes impersonation as the NFL stars trade jabs ahead of Week 1 vs. Chargers in Brazil
Chiefs TE Travis Kelce got some hilarious payback for comments QB Patrick Mahomes made earlier in the week.
Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce exacted some payback against quarterback Patrick Mahomes in front of media members in São Paulo, Brazil, on Thursday.
Mahomes got Kelce’s attention earlier in the week with some playful comments he made to the media about the 12-hour-plus trip to Brazil. He insinuated that Kelce didn’t realize quite how long a journey it would be for the team to make their trip down south.
“. . . We just explained it to some guys how far the trip was,” Mahomes said. “Some guys didn’t understand how far the travel was – Travis (Kelce), even though he was just down there like last year. So, I was just explaining to him how the globe works (laughter).”
At that point, Kelce began plotting his revenge. It prompted a lighthearted moment to kick off international media availability on Thursday.

As media members began to ask questions of the team in Brazil, KC Star reporter Sam McDowell asked Kelce what it was like with the crowd at the airport on Wednesday night. He was met with a familiar voice, but not one typically heard from Kelce’s mouth.
“Ah, man, it was crazy,” Kelce said, in a Mahomes’ froggy tone.
“Chill out,” Mahomes told Kelce with a chuckle. “Chill out.”
“It was a lot of fun seeing all the fans there,” Kelce said, before breaking character. “He (Patrick Mahomes) had that one coming for telling everybody I didn’t know where Brazil was on the map.”
Everyone says that Andy Reid actually has the best impression of Patrick Mahomes, but we’ve yet to hear that one from Big Red. Maybe the reaction to this moment will finally prompt him to bust it out in front of the crowd. How would you rate Kelce’s impression of Mahomes?
