There is always some story behind Jason Kelce’s outfits. And the first Monday Night Football game of the 2025 season was no different.

Kelce and the Monday Night Countdown crew traveled to Chicago for the Bears’ season opener against the Minnesota Vikings at Soldier Field. And before the game, Kelce took some time to explore, specifically making a stop at Old Fashioned Donuts in Roseland. He even wore a shirt from the shop during the broadcast.

And that got him a shoutout on X, formerly known as Twitter.

“Never thought I’d shout out Jason Kelce online, but super dope to see him repping Roseland staple Old Fashioned Donuts (best donut I’ve ever had) on MNF!,” one person wrote.

“Mr. B made the best Apple Fritter I’ve ever had, and I don’t even like Apple Fritters. Old Fashioned Donuts in Chicago is an absolute gem,” Kelce replied to the post,. “He opened the place in 1972, hasn’t had an off day since. Turns 87 on Oct, 5th. The workers, the food, it was all just a fantastic experience.”

More About Old Fashioned Donuts in Roseland

In May 2025, the Chicago Sun-Times published a piece all about Old Fashioned Donuts and its 86-year-old owner, Burritt Bulloch. He ran the business with his wife, Mamie Bulloch, until she passed away in 2009.

Bulloch’s granddaughter recently posted a video on TikTok, showing all he does every day, and it got 1.6 million views. So with that, he noted to the Chicago Sun-Times that “because of my granddaughter, there’s been a lot of strange faces in here, a lot of people coming from all over.”

Maybe that’s how Kelce found it!
