Cowboys make major Trevon Diggs decision moments before Bears matchup, full Week 3 inactives list
Dallas Cowboys CB Trevon Diggs appeared on the injury report late in the week. Will he play against the Bears?
Dallas Cowboys cornerback Trevon Diggs was a late addition to the injury report on Saturday with a knee injury. Ninety minutes before kicking off their Week 3 matchup against the Chicago Bears, the Cowboys announced Diggs is playing on Sunday.
Losing Diggs would have been a major blow to the defense. Without DaRon Bland—who was ruled out earlier in the week and is inactive—the Cowboys defense was already in trouble. And though the Bears have been inconsistent on offense, they have enough talent at quarterback and wide receiver to exploit a weakened secondary.
Cowboys’ inactives for Week 3 vs. Bears
- CB DaRon Bland
- DE Jadeveon Clowney
- DT Jay Toia
- OT Ajani Cornelius
- LB Shemar James
- RB Jaydon Blue
- iOL Trevor Keegan
Notes on Cowboys inactives:
- Jadeveon Clowney, who signed with the Cowboys earlier this week, is inactive. He didn’t participate in any training camp.
- Cowboys rookie running back Jaydon Blue is a healthy scratch once again. The offense has been able to run the ball well with veteran Javonte Williams, who has scored three touchdowns. Head coach Brian Schottenheimer told reporters last week Blue needed to be more consistent.
- Mazi Smith is also active for the first time this season, with rookie Jay Toia taking his place in the inactive list.
- This is the Cowboys’ first game without starting center Cooper Beebe, which caused Trevor Keegan to be on the active gameday roster for the first time this season. He’ll give the Cowboys depth behind Brock Hoffman, who will be starting.
