Bengals at Broncos Inactives: Cincinnati goes lighter at defensive line and keeps two 2024 draft picks on the sideline
Here are Cincinnati’s inactives for Week 4.
The Cincinnati Bengals are getting ready for kickoff against the Denver Broncos. Before the game begins, each team has released their inactive players list.
Here are the Bengals players who will not play against the Vikings:
- WR Jermaine Burton
- DT Howard Cross III
- TE Noah Fant
- DT McKinnley Jackson
- DE Shemar Stewart
Noah Fant and Shemar Stewart are the only injured Bengals not playing
Fant and Stewart were each declared out via Saturday’s injury report. Fant is still in the concussion protocol and won’t be able to face the team that drafted him in the first round of the 2019 NFL Draft. Stewart, Cincinnati’s first-rounder from this year’s draft, is still recovering from an ankle injury he suffered back in Week 2.
With Fant out, this means Cam Grandy and Tanner Hudson will each be active together for the first time this season. Grandy is the backup to Drew Sample like Hudson is to Mike Gesicki in the Bengals’ tight end room.
Cross, a rookie undrafted free agent, made his NFL debut last week thanks to Stewart being out, but the Bengals are rolling with just eight defensive linemen this week. Kris Jenkins Jr. and Mike Penell are the backups at DT behind starters B.J. Hill and T.J. Slaton Jr.
Jermaine Burton remains inactive and there’s a reason why
Burton, Cincinnati’s third-round pick from the 2024 draft, was late to another practice this week according to ESPN’s Ben Baby.
Burton had a similar incident last season which led to him being inactive for a week. He remains the sixth wideout on the depth chart, as is Jackson for DTs. Jackson was also picked in the third round of last year’s draft and has yet to play this season.
