Loss to Giants completely changes the biggest Eagles’ narrative of the 2025 season
The Eagles don’t look like they just won a Super Bowl.
The Philadelphia Eagles entered the 2025 season fresh off a Super Bowl LIX win and focused on sustaining success as opposed to chasing another trophy.
Things looked good through the first four weeks with four straight wins, but then the Birds were exposed in back-to-back losses.
After falling to the Denver Broncos on Sunday in Week 5, the Eagles lost to the New York Giants on Thursday Night Football. They’re now 4-2 and sharing first place in the NFC East with the 4-2 Washington Commanders.
Nick Sirianni Has a Straight-Forward Message to the Team Following Two Losses in Four Days
After four straight wins and two losses in four days, head coach Nick Sirianni sent a simple message to his players.
“Get up,” he said. “We’re going to take some time off and just get up and keep fighting. We’ve got a lot of things to fix. We’ve been here before. Let’s go.”
The Eagles’ offense struggled once again in the second half and was unable to get the run game going. Are they becoming too predictable? Sirianni wouldn’t answer that question, but he did admit they fell behind.
“I think there was some good moments in the run game today,” Sirianni said. “Got ourselves behind the sticks a little bit in the second half on some of the runs there. We’ll look at everything right there. We know we want to play. We know we have the guys up front to be able to do that. Obviously, we’ve got to do a good enough job putting them in positions to succeed. And then we have to execute. We’ll look at everything running different types of schemes. But we’ll look at everything to see what we’re doing well. Treat this like a bye week here this weekend.”
Despite having to bounce back from two brutal losses, Sirianni remains confident looking ahead.
“This is life in the NFL,” he said. “You’re going to have some ups. You’re going to have some downs. We’ve been here before. Last year, we started off 4-2. Just a different way that we got there. So, there is no panic on us. It’s ‘Hey, get back up. Go back to work. And get better from it.’”
