Bills’ injury woes continue as disaster strikes One Bills Drive ahead of Week 6 vs Atlanta Falcons
Not the update Bills Mafia was hoping to hear out of One Bills Drive.
The Buffalo Bills are going to be a bit shorthanded for the upcoming matchup against the Atlanta Falcons in Week 6. Unfortunately for the team, it extends well beyond just the upcoming contest.
Ahead of practice on Saturday, head coach Sean McDermott ruled out linebacker Matt Milano, safety Damar Hamlin, and rookie defensive tackle T.J. Sanders for the Week 6 matchup.

McDermott also added that both Hamlin and Sanders would need to be placed on injured reserve, sidelining them for at least the next four games. McDermott didn’t state whether or not this could be season-ending, as Sanders will require surgery on his knee.
Sanders has appeared in all four games with two tackles. In 111 snaps, he has six total pressures (one hit, five hurries).
Injuries continue to pile up for Buffalo
It doesn’t just end there, as tight end Dalton Kincaid and wide receiver Curtis Samuel are not cleared for the upcoming game. McDermott said he will take a look at them at practice on Saturday and see how they’re progressing through injury.
Kincaid has been a force on offense and will undoubtedly be a name to watch ahead of the matchup. If Kincaid were unable to participate, Buffalo would be losing one of its top options on offense.
Through the early stages of the season, Kincaid has totaled 20 receptions for 287 yards and three touchdowns.
For Samuel, it’s an unfortunate trend that’s continuing through his career as a Buffalo Bill; he just cannot stay healthy. Samuel was able to find the end zone during the team’s loss against the New England Patriots, but popped up on the injury report with neck and rib injuries.
He was limited on Thursday but did not participate at all on Friday.
One positive update is that defensive tackle Ed Oliver looks ready to go after being sidelined since the Week 1 victory over the Baltimore Ravens. Oliver spoke to the media after practice on Thursday, and it’s clear that he’s hungry to get back out on the field to compete.
All that’s left to do is wait, as the Bills will release their final injury report after practice on Saturday, with more than a handful of names to keep an eye out for. For now, the team is down two spots on the roster, with Sanders and Hamlin heading to injured reserve.
The team has three safeties on the roster, so perhaps they call up veteran safety Jordan Poyer.
However, after Week 6 wraps up, the team will need those two spots to bring back defensive end Michael Hoecht and defensive tackle Larry Ogunjobi, who are serving six-game suspensions.
