The reigning MVP in quarterback Josh Allen had quite the busy offseason. Perhaps his biggest accomplishment was getting to marry his best friend in Hailee Steinfeld. Allen gets emotional when asked about his marriage, as was showcased in HBO’s “Hard Knocks.”
While the talented quarterback doesn’t flinch when a defender is barreling down upon him, often opting to deal a vicious stiff-arm on his way to a first down, Allen has been electric on the football field.
However, Allen opened up on what his wife has taught him through the early stages of their marriage, and gave an unforgettable message on what she’s done for him that’s changed his life. Self-reflection is important, and Allen is much bigger than just a football player.
“Maybe that I am more than a football player,” Allen offered when asked what Hailee taught him.
“My whole dream as a kid, you know, has been to be in this position, and I have never thought of anything outside of that or beyond that,” Allen said. “Hopefully, I get to still play this game for a very long time, and ultimately, my goal is to play this for as long as I physically can, but there is life after it as well.”
Allen has been a superstar on and off the field
The franchise quarterback has been front and center in the national spotlight. No, not because of the poor performance against the Atlanta Falcons, but because of his superstardom. Allen has taken over a position at New Era in which he designs hats that are then auctioned off, with proceeds going toward the Patricia Allen Fund.
Not only that, but he announced a new partnership with New Balance that gives back to the community of Firebaugh, California, Allen’s hometown.
On top of some Snickers and Pepsi commercials, the talented quarterback also partnered with Wonderful Pistachios for a scholarship that’s aimed at giving back to the younger community as well.
For Allen, life may still revolve around football, but thanks to Haillee, it’s no longer the only thing that defines him.
