Final score predictions for Georgia vs. Ole Miss: Can Lane Kiffin shock Kirby Smart two years in a row in this epic SEC showdown?
Ole Miss trying to do what only Alabama has done in the last five seasons against Georgia
The Georgia Bulldogs and Ole Miss Rebels are both in strong position to make it to the College Football Playoff. The winner of what should be an incredible matchup will place themselves right on track to make it to the SEC Championship Game as well.
Lane Kiffin’s offense has been hot this season thanks to the emergence of star quarterback Trinidad Chambliss, but their run defense has been questionable. Kirby Smart keeps coaching his Georgia team to wins with late comebacks, but their pass rush continues to fall short of expectation.
Can the Ole Miss Rebels actually beat Georgia two years in a row, or will the SEC pecking order go back to normal with a Bulldogs win?
Given how important this epic SEC showdown should be for both teams, media members from A to Z Sports who cover both teams decided to weigh in to predict a winner. The picks are in. Enjoy!

- Ole Miss ranks number one in the nation at creating offensive plays of 30+ yards this year

Ole Miss 30, Georgia 24
This is not your typical Georgia versus Ole Miss game. Georgia might be 5-1, but they have looked beatable almost every single week of SEC play. They could have (or should have) lost to Tennessee. They did lose to Alabama, at home, snapping a 30+ home game win streak. Then they should have gone down 17-0 to Auburn head into halftime if not for a botched fumble call at the goal line. Gunner Stockton has made huge leaps forward and the ground game continues to thrive, but the Bulldogs boast one of the worst pass rushes in the country. Halfway through the season Georgia seriously has just one sack from any true defensive end or tackle up front.
Meanwhile, Ole Miss’ offense has been on fire with Trinidad Chambliss at quarterback. They rank number one among all FBS teams at creating explosive plays of 30+ yards. They’re top 20 in almost every offensive category, including elite marks on third downs, where Georgia can’t get off the field (ranking 86th nationally). Kirby Smart and his staff will find a way to make this close, but thanks to Lane Kiffin’s offensive system “home field advantage” will be neutralized as the Rebels win 30-24. – Travis May, A to Z Sports CFB & NFL Draft Managing Editor
Georgia 27, Ole Miss 24
Georgia’s big matchups have been anything but relaxing for fans, and that likely won’t change this week, especially with College GameDay in town. The good news is that quarterback Gunner Stockton returns home, which should help him play with more comfort and confidence. Still, the Bulldogs’ offense has to get the ground game going against Ole Miss or they’ll be in serious trouble. Defensively, Georgia must turn up the pressure on Trinidad Chambliss and be ready to contain star running back Kewan Lacy. That’s a tall order for a team that’s been far from perfect on either side of the ball, but it’s always tough to bet against the Bulldogs who never seem to quit until the clock runs out. Expect another heart attack for fans, but Georgia pulls off another close win, 27-24. – Kelsey Kramer, A to Z Sports Georgia
Georgia 27, Ole Miss 14
Ole Miss quarterback Trinidad Chambliss has been one of the better stories in college football this season, but it feels like that story might have a minor setback this week. While Georgia’s defense isn’t as good as what we have seen the last couple of years, their interior defensive line is strong, and their linebackers are very good. If star linebacker CJ Allen and the crew can stop the run as well as they have so far, they could make this Rebels team one dimensional. That’s the biggest key to taking down Ole Miss, and I think the Bulldogs have a vintage physical victory this weekend. – Ryan Roberts, A to Z Sports Notre Dame
Georgia 27, Ole Miss 24
This is a fascinating matchup between two teams that are among the nation’s best, but don’t feel like they’ve created separation from the rest of the country. That especially applies to Georgia, who lost at home for the first time since October of 2019. There has been shift in the balance of power across the nation, something that Ole Miss is ready to expose. Georgia’s defense isn’t the elite force it once was, but it’s still very good across the board. The key will be what quarterback Trinidad Chambliss does for the Rebels. He’s been a very good player across the board, but is he ready for the upper echelon of the SEC? Last week was a clunker against Washington State, but he’s put up some very impressive performances in his four starts. I believe he is ready to take that next step, but Georgia barely holds them off. – Tyler Forness, A to Z Sports Florida
Final Score Predictions for Georgia vs. Ole Miss
The A to Z Sports staff overall predicts this Georgia versus Ole Miss game might come down to the wire. On average our writers have this game ending in favor of Kirby Smart and the Bulldogs, 26-23. That would be par for the course with how Georgia’s season has gone thus far. Surviving overtime against Tennessee. Losing close to Alabama. Going down 10-0 (and it perhaps should have been 17-0) to Auburn, but coming back and winning. Lane Kiffin’s squad could jump out to an early lead, but the key will be holding it, and based on how the Bulldogs’ have played late in games that’s going to be a tough ask for Ole Miss.
