Atlanta Falcons gift Michael Penix Jr. a new best friend, defense gets needed attitude in latest 7-round 2026 NFL mock draft
The Atlanta Falcons add an outstanding haul of talent in latest 2026 NFL mock draft.
The Atlanta Falcons are an organization that is in a very strange place right now, and there are some answers that this fanbase is searching for. Head coach Raheem Morris is a very likeable person and a quality defensive mind, but things just haven’t seemed to click yet. You also have your young quarterback in Michael Penix Jr., who has been good in flashes, but nothing close to consistent so far. This is a team that feels somewhat close, but yet so far away.
If this regime is going to take that next step, they must continue to adding quality talent to an improving roster. The 2026 NFL Draft is going to be another opportunity to do just that, and there is a chance it could be the last under Morris depending on how things go. The mission in this latest 7-round mock draft was to add another weapon around Penix, and add some much needed attitude on the defensive side of the football.
Both things were accomplished.
Round 2, Pick 46: Antonio Williams, WR, Clemson
Williams has been a bit banged up for Clemson so far this season, but when healthy, he is one of the more dependable wide receivers in the 2026 class. At 5-11 and 190 pounds, Williams is a slot receiver with tremendous short area quickness and football IQ. Combining his skill set with Drake London could be a wonderful pairing.
Round 3, Pick 79: Kayden McDonald, DT, Ohio State
There isn’t a bigger riser in the 2026 interior defensive line class than McDonald. The 6-3, 326-pound behemoth is a monster in the run game, and just can’t get moved at the point of attack. It is very possible that he ends up going substantially higher when April comes around.
Round 4, Pick 114: Chris Johnson, CB, San Diego State
San Diego State quietly has one of the better defenses in all of college football, and Johnson is a big reason why. He is a super smooth cover man who is extremely smart. There is some upside in both zone and man coverage, which is a big bonus for the Falcons defense.
Round 6, Pick 195: Matthew Hibner, TE, SMU
Hibner has been drastically underutilized by SMU, but when he is, he’s a talented receiver with strong hands and a sturdy frame. The former Michigan transfer would be an immediate help in the run game while his pass game impact continues to develop. There’s no reason he shouldn’t become a useful weapon for an NFL offense that utilizes multiple tight ends.
Round 7, Pick 230: Ar’maj Reed-Adams, IOL, Texas A&M
Some parts of Draft Twitter are quite a bit higher on Reed-Adams, but that isn’t the case in NFL circles. He’s a massive interior presence, but he doesn’t always play like it. The former Kansas transfer is also a relatively underwhelming from the interior, but that raw size and experience still provides a solid floor in the right situation.
