The Kansas City Chiefs quarterback connected with Travis Kelce in the end zone during Monday night’s primetime game, marking the tight end’s 83rd touchdown in the regular season, which tied him for the most in franchise history. Kelce threw down the ball in excitement, going on to celebrate with his teammates.
However, before getting in on the fun, Mahomes made sure to pick up the ball and get it to a Chiefs staff member so Kelce would be able to remember this moment forever.
Mahomes is known for saving the football for his teammates in key moments, and this time was no different. He truly is the perfect teammate.

After the game, Mahomes spoke highly of Kelce, who had a very impressive showing against the Washington Commanders on Monday night.
Along with his record-tying touchdown, Kelce finished the night with six receptions on eight targets for 99 yards, marking his best game of the season.
“Yeah, I mean, I mean, he’s, that’s the true Chief of Chiefs, man,” Mahomes said. “I mean, he is the guy that was here before me, sets the culture. He’s the guy that is in the building early, in the building late. And he is the leader of this team.”
However, Mahomes is already looking ahead and is ready for Kelce to claim that record for himself.
“So to be able to get him that record tying it, let’s go out there and break it now.”
