Tennessee predicted to lose 2026 recruit that’s been committed to the Vols for almost a year
The Tennessee Vols could be losing a four-star recruit that’s been committed to UT for nearly a year.
The Tennessee Vols could soon lose a 2026 recruit that’s been committed to UT for nearly a year.
On3’s Steve Wiltfong predicted on Wednesday that 2026 three-star linebacker Braylon Outlaw will flip his commitment from Tennessee to Georgia Tech.
Outlaw has been committed to Tennessee since last November.
“Tennessee commit Braylon Outlaw is no longer expected to be in the Vols class come the Early Signing Period in December,” wrote Wiltfong. “The school to watch moving forward is Georgia Tech. With that, I’ve logged a Rivals Prediction Machine forecast in favor of the undefeated Yellow Jackets.”
Outlaw, 6-foot, 218 pounds, from Pike Road, AL, is rated in 247Sports’ composite rankings as the No. 24 player in the state of Alabama and the No. 53 linebacker in the nation.
Braylon Outlaw originally committed to Tennessee over Ole Miss
When Outlaw committed to Tennessee last year, he chose the Volunteers over the Ole Miss Rebels.
Ole Miss head coach Lane Kiffin and the Rebels continued their pursuit of Outlaw even after he committed to Tennessee.
Outlaw left the door open to potentially flipping from Tennessee earlier this year.
“It really just depends on how I feel,” said Outlaw to 247Sports when asked what it would take for someone to flip him from Tennessee. “I kind of consider this as my first time on campus (at Ole Miss). You can come to the game, but when it’s not a game, and you can come to a campus and attend different meetings, it’s really just a different vibe. It’s really just based on how I feel today, and how they would use me, too, once I get to talk to the coaches and see how they would use me in the defense will be a factor.”
It sounds like Outlaw is likely going to flip his commitment, but it doesn’t look like it will be to Ole Miss.
