The Cincinnati Bengals are just three days away from taking on the Chicago Bears in NFL Week 9, and there’s good news to be had about the home team’s quarterback situation.

Let’s check out Cincinnati’s injury report from Thursday:

Observations

  • Quarterback Joe Flacco (shoulder) went limited after he was a non-participant Wednesday. This is a very promising sign for the 40-year old being able to play Sunday, and wide receiver Ja’Marr Chase told reporters after practice he couldn’t tell that his quarterback was even hurt.
  • Trey Hendrickson (hip) did not practice again. Hendrickson suffered his injury originally in Week 6 against the Green Bay Packers and has only played 23 snaps since. He only practiced once last week and was able to suit up, but after re-aggravated the injury on Sunday, he’s very much up in the air for this weekend.
  • Linebacker Oren Burks (groin) went limited. He wasn’t listed on Wednesday’s injury report, so the injury occurred before or during practice Thursday. LB depth is already shaky with Logan Wilson (calf) missing the last two days of practice, so recently-signed Joe Giles-Harris may be needed more than expected to back up starters Barrett Carter and Demetrius Knight Jr.
  • Dalton Risner (illness) and cornerback Marco Wilson (hamstring) also remain out.

Observations

  • Wide receiver Luther Burden III (concussion) remains out in the concussion protocol, but DJ Moore (hip/groin), and Rome Odunze (heel) were each limited after they missed practice Wednesday.
  • Running back D’Andre Swift (groin) remains out DNP for a second-straight day as well as fellow RB Roschon Johnson (back) defensive lineman Dominique Robinson.
  • WR Olaminde Zaccheaus (knee) went limited after not practicing at all Wednesday, and defensive back Tyrique Stevenson (shoulder) went full a day after he was limited.
