We are just five days away from the Nov. 4 NFL trade deadline. Some deals have already gotten done this past week, and more are sure to come. Teams who already have an eye toward next year may look to sell, while others that feel they are one player away from winning a Super Bowl will buy.
Trades completed from past week
Los Angeles Rams receive: CB Roger McCreary, 2026 conditional sixth-round draft pick
Tennessee Titans receive: 2026 conditional fifth-round draft pick
The Titans are obvious sellers as they sit at 1-7 and have already fired their head coach. As for the Rams, they filled a need at cornerback with McCreary, who is a four-year veteran but is still just 25 years old.
San Francisco 49ers receive: DE Keion White, 2027 sixth-round draft pick
New England Patriots receive: 2027 sixth-round draft pick
White will provide some much needed depth for the 49ers, who have been devastated by injuries this year. He is a versatile defender who can play every position along the defensive line. Meanwhile, the Patriots got a draft pick for a player who wasn’t fitting in their new defensive scheme.
Pittsburgh Steelers receive: S Kyle Dugger, 2026 seventh-round draft pick
New England Patriots receive: 2026 sixth-round draft pick
New England gets another pick for a player who also wasn’t fitting into its defensive scheme. The Steelers badly needed help within in their secondary, and now they have it in the six-year veteran Dugger, who has a 100-tackle season under his belt.
Philadelphia Eagles receive: CB Michael Carter II, 2027 seventh-round draft pick
New York Jets receive: WR John Metchie III, 2027 sixth-round draft pick
The Eagles get a boost in their secondary with the nickel specialist Carter, which will allow Cooper DeJean to play outside. Metchie, who is a speedy and versatile receiver, will look to add some juice to a struggling Jets’ offense
Potential buyers ahead of trade deadline
Kansas City Chiefs: K.C. could use an upgrade at running back, especially with starter Isiah Pacheco battling through an MCL sprain. Even with Pacheco, the Chiefs’ rushing attack hasn’t been very productive. Defensive line is also a position of need, as they could look to add an edge or a defensive tackle.
Buffalo Bills: There are a plethora of positions Buffalo could improve, including defensive line (mostly due to injuries), cornerback, safety, and wide receiver. Despite the seemingly many roster holes, the Bills are still 4-2 and have as good a shot as anyone in the AFC to reach the Super Bowl.
Dallas Cowboys: It’s no secret that the Cowboys need help in multiple positions in their defense. Because of that, it may not be worth being buyers, but will owner Jerry Jones be able to contain himself? Keep an eye on him making a run for a top-notch pass rusher.
Indianapolis Colts: The Colts are having their best season in a very long time, and it’s time for them to go all-in. If they do, it will likely be on the defensive side of the ball, either at edge rusher or cornerback.
Potential sellers ahead of trade deadline
Tennessee Titans: We know that Tennessee has already been active, but it could have a full-on fire sale. Edge rushers Arden Key and Dre’Mont Jones have been at the center of trade rumors as of late.
New York Jets: The Jets have also already made a big deal, but at 1-7 they have plenty of reason to continue selling. Wide receivers Allen Lazard and Josh Reynolds, running back Breece Hall, defensive tackle Quinnen Williams, and EDGE Jermaine Johnson could all be available.
Miami Dolphins: It’s been a tumultuous season for the Dolphins, and coach Mike McDaniel is on the hotseat. Miami isn’t going anywhere sitting at 2-6, and needs to offload some hefty contracts.
New Orleans Saints: The Saints’ season is also dead at 1-7, and they too have salary cap issues. Teams are surely inquiring about wide receiver Chris Olave, but they may want to hold on to him to help the development of rookie quarterback Tyler Shough. New Orleans could deal linebacker Demario Davis or EDGE Cameron Jordan.
Two-Round 2026 NFL Mock Draft

As we enter the final stretch of the college football season and many NFL teams already out of the playoff hunt, multiple members of our A to Z Sports staff put together a fresh 2026 NFL mock draft. Here’s how they see the first two rounds potentially shaking out as we stand here in late October.
No. 1 overall: New Orleans Saints- Dante Moore, QB, Oregon: “The Saints have several quarterback options to choose from at the top, and each are very different, which makes the debate fun. Moore, who was a former five-star recruit coming out of high school, is one of the more gifted throwers in the class. Everything Moore does is very smooth, making everything look very easy, even hard things.” – Ryan Roberts
No. 11 overall: Los Angeles Rams (via Atlanta)- LaNorris Sellers, QB, South Carolina: “The premise of drafting a quarterback for the Rams may be far-fetched, but if they’re picking in the top 15 thanks to the Falcons’ picks, they should strongly consider it. If a prospect as physically gifted as Sellers is available, they cannot hesitate. While Sellers has struggled a bit this year, he’d be able to sit briefly behind Stafford before taking over and then dominating in McVay’s offense.” – Joe DeLeone
No. 21 overall: San Francisco- Caleb Lomu, OT, Utah: “Although Lomu has just played the left side for Utah, he has the movement skills, power profile, and length to project to either offensive tackle spot on the next level. All-Pro left tackle Trent Williams is nearing the end, and Colton McKivitz is very inconsistent at right tackle. Adding a talented younger player who could potentially play both positions could be massive. – Ryan Roberts
No. 27 overall: Denver Broncos- Max Klare, TE, Ohio State: “Klare feels like such a perfect fit for the Broncos, who could use a playmaker at tight end. Sean Payton has always valued the production of tight ends in his offense, and now he can get a go-to target for Box Nix.” – Joe DeLeone
No. 32 overall: Indianapolis Colts- Sonny Styles, LB, Ohio State: “The Colts’ linebacker room could use an athletic freak like Styles. The range and burst that Styles plays with gives him the potential to become a consistent Pro Bowl-caliber player alongside an already solid unit.” – Joe DeLeone
