Georgia Bulldogs sophomore running back Nate Frazier silenced those doubting him after he ran for a career-high 181 yards and on a touchdown against Mississippi State on Saturday afternoon en route to a blowout 41-21 win.

Frazier broke loose for a 31-yard run in the first half of the game and a 33-yarder in the fourth quarter, but it was his 56-yard touchdown run in the third quarter that turned heads.

Frazier became the first running back to pass 150 rushing yards since Kendall Milton back in 2023.

Kirby Smart sprinkles praise amid Frazier’s big day

Following the win, head coach Kirby Smart was asked about Frazier’s standout performance, and while he had plenty of praise for him, he made sure to sprinkle the credit around to other players as well.

“He’s been awesome. He works really hard. He and Chauncey both share the load. I think they cheer for each other,” Smart said. “Outside, they’re all worried about which back’s in, and we love both those kids. “… Nate had a great day, man. What a great day he had, and he was deserving. But let’s give credit, too, to Oscar Delp and Monroe and Earnest and Micah and Drew. Oh, my gosh. Juan and Donnie. Like, they blocked those plays up now. He was in the secondary quick, and that’s elite blocking.”

While Chauncey Bowens had a quieter day compared to Frazier, he still ran for 28 yards and a touchdown on seven carries.

It’s been some time since we’ve seen the Georgia Bulldogs have an elite ground game, but that’s changed this season with Frazier and Bowens leading the backfield so well.

Together, the two young backs have totaled 840 rushing yards and seven touchdowns. While Frazier has had a few costly drops this season, he’s consistently found ways to make up for them with big-time plays when it matters most. And that’s exactly what makes him so valuable and dangerous.
