Tennessee has long been viewed as one of the top programs for 2026 four-star edge rusher Dre Quinn, a former Clemson Tigers commit. Unfortunately for the Vols, Quinn committed to the Ohio State Buckeyes on Sunday.
Quinn’s decision came after a visit to Ohio State on Saturday for the Buckeyes’ win over the UCLA Bruins.
Quinn, 6-4, 228 pounds from Buford, GA, is rated in 247Sports’ composite rankings as the No. 36 edge rusher in the nation.
Dre Quinn was planning to visit Tennessee later this season
Quinn’s commitment to Ohio State on Sunday came as a bit of a surprise, given he was expected to take visits to Texas and Tennessee before making his final decision. But it appears Quinn saw what he needed to see on Saturday in Columbus.
This is the second recruit this month that Tennessee has lost to Ohio State. Earlier this month, 2026 four-star athlete Legend Bey flipped from the Vols to the Buckeyes.
Tennessee has the No. 9 2026 recruiting class in the nation.
