The Buffalo Bills got back into the win column with a thrilling victory over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Ahead of the contest, fans were excited by the announcement that wide receiver Gabe Davis would be active.

It marks the first game of the 2025 season in which Davis was healthy, and he showed up in a big way for Buffalo. One of quarterback Josh Allen’s most trusted targets over the years returned, and the receiver had quite the postgame comments about the incredible moment. Davis was asked about his return and what it felt like to be back.

“Felt pretty good being out there for the first time,” Davis said. “Heard everything clearly in the huddle, just felt right. Definitely feels good to be back.”

He was then asked about putting on the uniform again, after signing a new deal and spending one season with the Jacksonville Jaguars before returning home to Buffalo.

“Felt like it was meant to be. Happy to be back here, this is my most comfortable I have been playing, and I’m just glad that I got that Bills jersey on again,” Davis said. “It was fun, the guys every single time I touched the ball, guys were celebrating, so it was funny. But it was good.”

Davis was back like he never left

Despite wide receiver Keon Coleman being benched, the offense was firing on all cylinders, and Davis himself made an impact in the contest within the first few drives.

He kept a drive alive with a crucial play and finished the day with three catches for 40 yards. Allen gave him a chance for a touchdown in the game, but Davis couldn’t haul it in.

During his postgame presser, Allen brought up the play and how he’d like to have it back, taking the blame away from Davis. The question was initially about whether the chemistry was there, to which Allen quickly pointed out the near-touchdown.

“Nah. We were with each other for a long time,” Allen said. “I feel bad, I threw that little one-step slant really freaking hard in the end zone. Could’ve given him a better chance to score a touchdown there, but we’ll keep working on it.”

The Bills don’t need Davis to be the No. 1 option, but Sunday proved the chemistry with Allen is still there. If his health holds, Buffalo suddenly has another reliable piece as the offense continues to try and build momentum in the second half of the season.
