The Buffalo Bills are making their final preparations for the upcoming Week 13 contest against the Pittsburgh Steelers. It’s a game where Buffalo needs to win and bounce back in a big way after the abysmal effort in the loss against the Houston Texans.

Ahead of the contest, quarterback Josh Allen got a huge and unexpected boost from the Steelers. While it won’t impact gameday, the gesture cannot go unnoticed by Steelers quarterback Aaron Rodgers. Rodgers had quite a statement about Allen and what type of player he is ahead of the matchup. One thing is for certain: It’s all love between the two starting quarterbacks.

“He’s one of my favorite people in the league. He’s a fantastic guy,” Rodgers said. “I love the way he carries himself. He’s arguably the best player in the league. I really appreciate the way he represents the league. I’m proud to be a friend of his.”

Allen has quite the support from the opposing quarterback heading into the matchup.

Rodgers’ praise isn’t just friendly banter; it underscores the level of respect that Allen commands across the league. With the Bills entering a must-win stretch, Allen hearing that kind of endorsement from a future Hall of Famer only adds to the weight of Sunday’s matchup.

Rodgers versus the Bills career history

In seven games against the Bills, Rodgers is 3-4 while averaging 16 completions for 192 yards and a touchdown and an interception. While the Jets were able to win in September of 2023, Rodgers wasn’t available for the contest outside of one pass attempt. So the last time that Rodgers defeated the Bills was back in 2018 as a member of the Green Bay Packers.

Rodgers threw for 298 yards with one touchdown and one interception in the victory. He’ll get another chance on Sunday in an attempt to even his win-loss record against Buffalo, facing off against one of the best quarterbacks in the league. Yes, I am aware that both quarterbacks aren’t on the field at the same time, just let me have some fun with it.

If nothing else, Rodgers’ comments set the stage for a matchup loaded to the brim with storylines. Respect, urgency, and two franchises pushing for playoff positions. It’s up to Allen and the Bills to turn that goodwill into a much-needed win.
