Browns DE Myles Garrett gave his own injury update, and showed the kind of player he is after Cleveland’s loss to the Bears
Cleveland’s star pass rusher is chasing an NFL record, and there isn’t much that is going to stop him.
The Cleveland Browns are 3-11 coming out of Week 15 and a 31-3 loss to the Chicago Bears.
Cleveland’s offense was once again a disaster against Chicago and the other two facets of the team matched them. There wasn’t a whole lot of good to take away from Cleveland’s latest loss outside of the play of their star pass rusher.
It’d take a serious injury to slow down Myles Garrett right now
Garrett was a bit hobbled at times against the Bears in negative wind chill weather on Sunday. The star pass rusher still had 1.5 sacks against the Bears and is up to 21.5 this season. With three games remaining, Garrett needs just 1.5 sacks to break the NFL record of 22.5 sacks.
“That’s how I always am. I’m gonna play through pretty much anything, Garrett said after the loss. “I tweaked my hip or something in that area so I was feeling that for the rest of the game—like I said— [i’m] going to continue to push through.”
Myles Garrett is on a real heater, and he’s the biggest storyline through the final three games
Garrett has a sack in eight straight games and 17.5 sacks total during that stretch. Only Michael Strahan and T.J. Watt’s 22.5 sacks are more than the 21.5 that Garrett currently has. Cleveland’s defense has played at an elite level for the most part this season despite how bad the offense is, and Garrett has been a huge part of that.
In the final three games of the season, Garrett will go up against Josh Allen, Mason Rudolph, and Joe Burrow. Cleveland is playing for draft positioning in the final three games against the Buffalo Bills, Pittsburgh Steelers, and Cincinnati Bengals.
