The Kansas City Chiefs and Tennessee Titans have released their final injury reports of the week ahead of Week 16’s game at Nissan Stadium in Nashville, Tennessee.

Every team is beat up toward the end of the regular season, but the Chiefs are particularly battered heading into Week 16. The list of injured players feels insurmountable, especially with star QB Patrick Mahomes out for the remainder of the season with a knee injury. The odds still favor Kansas City, but I’m not so sure that they should. Ultimately, the Chiefs will have to play with who they’ve got with the goal of beating a two-win Titans team on the road.

Here’s a quick breakdown of the final injury reports for Week 16, complete with game status designations, for both teams. Keep in mind that clubs can make additions to the final injury report all the way up until kickoff at Noon CT.

Observations

  • The Chiefs have nine players ruled out for Week 16 vs. the Titans. There won’t be any activations for the players designated to return from injured reserve, but you can expect two practice squad elevations, given how many players won’t play.
  • Perhaps the best news here is that Chiefs RG Trey Smith is finally healthy and carries no game status designation. His return could give the team a big boost with Esa Pole and Chu Godrick still penciled in as starters at offensive tackle.

Observations

  • Amani Hooker’s return is big news for the Titans after they placed three safeties on injured reserve recently.
  • Kevin Zeitler’s status as questionable is notable, as he’s the veteran presence on the offensive line for Tennessee.
  • Arden Key was a late addition to the injury report with an illness, having not been on the report and participating in full both Wednesday and Thursday.
