The Buffalo Bills are getting healthy at the right time. That hasn’t always been the case for the season, as several key playmakers have gone down with season-ending injuries. Not only that, but several games this season, the team has been forced to play shorthanded.

Head coach Sean McDermott had already ruled out defensive tackle Jordan Phillips and kicker Matt Prater for Sunday’s matchup against the Browns. Prater suffered an injury, and the team was forced to bring in an emergency reinforcement in kicker Michael Badgley.

There was a huge shakeup to the offense before kickoff as both wide receiver Keon Coleman and Gabe Davis have been ruled out for the matchup. For Coleman, it’s a frustrating update for a player that was supposed to take a big leap in year two, but can’t seem to find the field.

Buffalo makes slew of roster moves before kickoff

Ahead of the matchup, Buffalo made a slew of roster moves to prepare for Cleveland.

The team elevated Badgley and defensive end Andre Jones Jr from the practice squad while also activating wide receiver Mecole Hardman from the injured reserve. Quarterback Josh Allen is going to get yet another weapon at his disposal for Sunday’s game.

Now, the good news. Cornerback Christian Benford and tight end Dalton Kincaid had been battling through injuries all week. Fortunately for Bills Mafia, they got an early Christmas present in that both players are a full-go. It’s an encouraging update, seeing as though Benford was out for the win over New England in Week 15, and Kincaid’s knee makes everyone nervous about his availability.

Buffalo Bills’ inactive report for Week 16

Outside of the obvious players who had already been ruled out, the Week 16 inactive report fortunately didn’t have too many surprises outside of Coleman. Buffalo is looking healthy for the Browns. With playoff implications on the line, it couldn’t have come at a better time.

Rounding out the inactives for Buffalo are safety Darnell Savage, offensive tackle Tylan Grable, and defensive tackle Larry Ogunjobi.

All things considered, the Bills are as close to full strength as they’ve been in weeks, and that matters with January football right around the corner. Coleman’s ability to get on the field is frustrating, but getting back Benford, along with adding Hardman to the mix, gives Buffalo some stability.

With the margin for error shrinking and playoff positioning on the line, Sunday presents a chance for Buffalo to take another step forward with a roster that finally looks like itself again.
