The Minnesota Vikings don’t have a chance to make the playoffs with their 7-8 record, but they can still impact the race when they take on the Detroit Lions on Christmas Day. If the Vikings get a win on Thursday afternoon, they will knock the Motor City kitties out of the playoffs.

Even so, it’s an important game for the Vikings to get a win. They are trying to win their fourth-consecutive game, with a chance to win five games in a row. That kind of momentum is huge for the culture of a franchise.

The Vikings won’t have their starting quarterback on Thursday, as J.J. McCarthy is dealing with a broken throwing hand, but Max Brosmer took a step forward and will get his second start. It’s not a normal game, and also not on a normal network. Here’s how you can watch the game.

It’s a tough spot for the Vikings, as their third-string quarterback is set to get his second start of the season. It’s not ideal to have an undrafted free agent quarterback get one, let alone two starts, but this is the world that the Vikings are living in.

He will be facing a secondary that is struggling due to injuries. The Vikings can attack them on all three levels of the field with the wide receivers to pair with Brosmer. If the Vikings can attack the secondary, that could get them a season sweep over the Lions.
