Minnesota Vikings general manager Nolan Teasley has been very active in trying to find talent across the board. There were multiple moves announced on Tuesday, from Max Brossmer to Kyle Van Noy.

On Wednesday morning, the Vikings made those official, adding four players and waiving four others.

Added:

  • QB Max Brosmer
  • RB DeeJay Dallas
  • WR Dillon Bell
  • OLB Kyle Van Noy

Released:

  • OL Joshua Gray
  • OL Tristan Leigh
  • C Gavin Gerhardt
  • OLB Cam’Ron Stewart

Minnesota Vikings make multiple practice squad changes

The first part of the season has a lot of posturing with the roster and practice squad. Teasley kept both Brosmer and Bell on the initial 53-man roster for a reason. They wanted to prevent them from getting picked up on waivers, something that is much easier to do after the first wave.

We knew about Bell, Brosmer, and Van Noy, who was announced on Tuesday night, but the one intriguing add was Dallas. He was a fourth-round pick in the 2020 NFL Draft and has bounced around the league. He spent the first four years with the Seattle Seahawks before bouncing around the league over the last two seasons.

With the lack of consistency in the running back room, having Dallas on the practice squad is a good thing, including his special teams ability. He’s averaged 25.3 yards per kick return over his career, and has a touchdown to his name in 2024.

Among the releases are three offensive linemen, including seventh-round pick Gavin Gerhardt, who was buried on the depth chart. It was a puzzling pick at the time, and looks even more so now.
