The Buffalo Bills are hosting the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 17, with both teams trying to improve their playoff seedings with a victory. The Buffalo Bills clinched a playoff berth after defeating the Cleveland Browns and getting a loss from the Indianapolis Colts on Monday Night Football. Buffalo is trying desperately, though with slim chances, to claim another AFC East title while the Eagles clinched the NFC East in Week 16. It has all the makings of an instant classic.

It’ll be one of the final home games in Highmark Stadium, so you know that the Bills Mafia is going to be loud and out in full force.

Fortunately, the whole country is going to be able to watch the Eagles and Bills face off, as there is just one afternoon game around the NFL in Week 17. Due to Christmas scheduling and a couple of Saturday matchups, the Bills and Eagles game will be the only one starting at 4:25 p.m. ET.

Storylines heading into the matchup

As is the case in December in Buffalo, it’s looking like the weather is going to have an impact on the contest. There is some possible snow along with 20+ MPH winds expected in the forecast. As is the case with weather like this, both passing games could be greatly impacted.

Perhaps the biggest storyline entering the contest is that of quarterback Josh Allen. He was injured during the win against the Cleveland Browns. While he was able to finish the game, he missed a walkthrough on Tuesday but said that he should be a full-go on Sunday.

For the Eagles, it appears as though their stud defensive tackle, Jalen Carter, could see the field along with the return of offensive tackle Lane Johnson.

All that’s left to do is wait until kickoff, and fans won’t have to wait long.
