The Buffalo Bills, ahead of kickoff against the Philadelphia Eagles, were already shorthanded.

Head coach Sean McDermott had already ruled out safety Jordan Poyer, defensive tackle Jordan Phillips, and kicker Matt Prater. The final injury report also confirmed that defensive tackle DaQuan Jones would be ruled out of the contest.

Unfortunately, the hits keep on coming for Buffalo as the team has ruled out tight end Dalton Kincaid for the matchup. Quarterback Josh Allen and the offense will once again be without the best pass-catcher and an elite run blocker in a pivotal showdown. It’s not the first time this season that Kincaid has missed time, leaving the offense without him in some big moments throughout the season.

Disaster struck One Bills Drive, and the team is going to have to lean on the next man up once again.

Ahead of the matchup, the team signed tight end Keleki Latu to the active roster, a sign that one or both of the tight ends wouldn’t be available. In a subsequent move, the team waived wide receiver Mecole Hardman Jr. while elevating kicker Michael Badgley and defensive end Andre Jones Jr.

Buffalo Bills’ inactive report

Rounding out the official inactive report for Buffalo are offensive tackle Tylan Grable and wide receiver Keon Coleman. This is in addition to the players already known in Prater, Poyer, Phillips, and Jones.

It’s another game where Coleman will be unavailable for the contest. He was a healthy scratch in the team’s Week 16 win over the Cleveland Browns, and it’s another chapter in a saga where he can’t find himself on the football field for gamedays. Wide receiver Gabe Davis gets the start over him.

One thing is for certain: Buffalo needs some wide receiver help during the offseason. Allen has been forced to do too much on his own.

Despite the mounting injuries, Buffalo has shown all season that excuses won’t carry much weight inside the locker room. Once again, several key contributors are sidelined, and the Bills will be forced to rely on depth, discipline, and execution to survive the tough matchup ahead.

Whether it’s enough remains to be seen, but the standard doesn’t change, next man up, and find a way to win.
