It hasn’t been a banner season for Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Justin Jefferson, but he found a way to go out with a bang. The Vikings made a concerted effort to get Jefferson his sixth-consecutive 1,000-yard season, and they did so halfway through the second quarter.

It’s an impressive streak, and something that only two other players have done in NFL history: Tampa Bay Buccaneers’ Mike Evans and Vikings’ Randy Moss. Getting there took longer than it has in prior seasons, but it’s one other stat that stands out above all else.

Justin Jefferson’s 100-yard receiving games highlight the funniest stat

This season, Jefferson will finish with 84 catches on 138 targets, 1,048 yards, and two touchdowns. It’s not the best stat line Jefferson’s ever had, but the tape from the season is still great. It was a trying year for the offense, having to deal with multiple starting quarterbacks and an offensive line that was constantly injured.

Jefferson had just three 100-yard receiving games, the lowest number of his six-year career. Within those 100-yard games, Jefferson had his first one in the United States on Sunday, with his first two coming in Europe in games against the Pittsburgh Steelers (Dublin, Ireland) and the Cleveland Browns (London, England).

It’s a wild stat when you think about it. Jefferson is also the first player in NFL history to have two 100-yard receiving games overseas in the same season. You can’t write a funnier stat line for a player than that.

It might not have been the best season for the Vikings and Jefferson, but it certainly ended the right way with five straight wins.
