The Buffalo Bills were rolling against the New York Jets early on in the Week 18 contest. It was an emotional day in Orchard Park, New York, as the team and fans said goodbye to Highmark Stadium. It was the final home game played inside the decorated venue before the team moves across the street next season.

In just the first half alone, tight end Dawson Knox had an unforgettable act. With his contract incentives, he was a few yards and a touchdown away from cashing in on a monster payday, and didn’t wait long to cash in. Knox was six catches away from $100,000, seven receiving yards away from $100,000, and one receiving touchdown away from $100,000.

Quarterback Mitch Tribusky found Knox wide open for a score early on in the contest, allowing Knox to surpass his incentives and take home an additional $200,000 on the season because of it.

Farewell to Highmark Stadium

Buffalo got off to a big lead early, making it a party inside Highmark Stadium. The return of the red helmets was a nice little added touch, and it’s something that the team should bring back in the regular rotation moving forward. They’re just that gorgeous.

Knox earned every penny of his incentive and has become a reliable weapon for quarterback Josh Allen with the absence of tight end Dalton Kincaid over the past few games. Knox’s production as of late is something the team is hoping they can capitalize on when the postseason begins. Nevertheless, it was an exciting moment in an otherwise meaningless game for Knox to cash in.

As the doors close on Highmark Stadium, it felt fitting that a homegrown leader like Knox delivered one last memorable moment inside its walls. The building may be gone soon, but the memories like Knox’s are exactly why its legacy will live on with Bills Mafia.
