Sooners’ future defenders just showed the entire world what the SEC will have to deal with when they arrive
The Sooners will need those guys in the future.
The Oklahoma Sooners are set to welcome some elite talent in the next few years. The 2026 recruiting class is impressive from top to bottom, ranking No. 16 nationally. Meanwhile, the 2027 class is ranked as the best in the nation. In just a few months, we will see 2026 defensive end Jake Kreul at practice, and next season, defensive end Krew Jones will take the field.
Both players have considerable potential, which they displayed at the Under Armour All-American Game in Orlando last weekend.
Kreul and Jones showed others what’s to come in the SEC when they arrive
The All-American Game showcased several impressive plays from future collegiate standouts. Kreul and Jones made significant contributions. Kreul recorded strong defensive plays, including a well-executed sack, while Jones also tallied an athletic sack.
Kreul’s sack was a nice move that saw him end up inside the pocket with his arms wrapped around the quarterback’s legs while he was on the ground. He showed off his bend pretty well. Kreul had another move, a bull rush, on an All-American offensive tackle, where he basically put the guy on his back on the ground.
Kreul isn’t the biggest or strongest defensive lineman. He can be that type of player, but he’s used to winning with his technique and skill set. He put a guy much bigger and likely stronger than him on his butt.
As for Jones, he got himself a sack as well, and in a way that was pretty nice to see. Jones chased down the quarterback in the backfield as he was trying to escape the pocket.
Jones is a bit stronger and faster, and he certainly has the size, too. These two both put on a show in front of the country, showing what they’re ready to bring to the SEC.
