The Tennessee Vols are still looking for a running back in the transfer portal.

Tennessee is in need of a transfer running back after losing sophomore Peyton Lewis to the transfer portal (Lewis is heading to Virginia).

On3’s Pete Nakos predicted on Monday that Tennessee will land Louisiana transfer running back Zylan Perry following his visit to Knoxville.

“The Volunteers are currently hosting Louisiana transfer Zylan Perry for a visit, and sources indicate to On3 that he’s expected to land on Rocky Top,” wrote Nakos.

Perry took a visit to Cincinnati after his trip to Knoxville. He’s yet to make a decision.

Jacksonville State transfer running back Cam Cook, another potential target for the Vols, committed to West Virginia this week.

Update:

Perry committed to Cincinnati on Thursday afternoon.

Tennessee to host Baylor transfer running back Bryson Washington on a visit

According to On3, Baylor transfer running back Bryson Washington will visit Tennessee on Friday.

Washington, 6-foot/216 pounds from Franklin, TX, rushed for 1,816 yards and 18 touchdowns over the last two seasons at Baylor. He also had 40 receptions over the last two seasons.

Washington would appear to be a great fit for the Vols. He looks like a dynamic playmaker that would bring speed and physicality to Tennessee’s running back room.

But as is the case with all transfer players during portal season, we’ll have to see how the visit goes with Tennessee before we’ll know if Washington is a viable option for the Volunteers.
