2026 4-star Tennessee Vols signee labeled as a ‘high IQ defender’ and compared to a first round draft pick from Georgia
The Tennessee Vols may have found a future stud in the 2026 recruiting class.
2027 four-star Tennessee Vols linebacker signee TJ White had an impressive showing at the 2026 Navy All-American Bowl in San Antonio this past week.
White, 6-foot-2/240 pounds from Jackson, MS, officially signed with Tennessee in December. He’s rated by 247Sports as the No. 4 linebacker in the nation and the No. 41 player in the 2026 recruiting class.
TJ White had a “sneaky-good week” at the Navy All-American Bowl
247Sports listed White as a player that had a “sneaky-good week” at the Navy All-American Bowl.
National recruiting analyst Andrew Ivins noted that White has “as good of a week as anyone”.
Ivins also pointed out that White continues to remind him of former Georgia Bulldogs linebacker Jalon Walker, the No. 15 overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft.
“It can be hard for linebackers to stand out in what was primarily a thud-up setting, but a review of both the practice and game footage suggests that TJ White had as good of a week as anyone in San Antonio,” wrote Ivins. “The Gatorade Player of the Year in Mississippi is a high IQ defender that constantly finds the football and wastes little motion getting there. He continues to remind us of former Georgia star Jalon Walker as he can also rush the quarterback.”
White will obviously have some work to do this spring and fall to climb the depth chart at Tennessee, but he’s a player that we could see in action on Saturdays sooner rather than later.
