Kevin Patullo is out as the Philadelphia Eagles offensive coordinator. He hasn’t been fired or let go by the organization as of now, though. There’s a chance that he will stay on staff as an assistant, but he won’t be calling offensive plays next season.

Who could be? Let’s take a look at some strong candidates to be the next OC for Philadelphia.

5 Eagles offensive coordinator candidates to be Kevin Patullo’s successor

Todd Monken, former Ravens OC

In his first season as Baltimore’s OC, Lamar Jackson was the NFL MVP. Last year, Jackson was second in the MVP race behind Josh Allen, and plenty of folks believe his numbers proved that he should have taken home the hardware again. Monken is well-respected in pro and college football circles and will get another play calling opportunity rather quickly after losing his job with the Ravens firing John Harbaugh.

Mike McDaniel, former Dolphins HC

McDaniel is a popular OC and HC candidate right now and will have plenty of interviews around the league. With that, the competition will be fierce against Philly. That being said, a stint at the Eagles OC could be the perfect way to improve his profile as a head coaching candidate after the Dolphins moved on from him. His scheme matches the talent for the Eagles offense pretty well, too, when you consider athleticism in the backfield and a QB who appreciates timing.

Kliff Kingsbury, former Commanders OC

Kingsbury was a surprise move from Washington, as the two sides split recently. The play caller played a pivotal role in the early development of young star quarterback Jayden Daniels, who pushed for the team to keep him on board. The fit with Jalen Hurts and a strong rushing attack makes a ton of sense for the Eagles.

Zac Robinson, former Falcons OC

Robinson has play-calling experience and learned directly from Sean McVay during his time with the Los Angeles Rams. He was a well-respected candidate when hired by the Atlanta Falcons but fell victim to Raheem Morris’ firing earlier this offseason. Robinson may land in an even better situation if he gets the job in Philly.

Davis Webb, Broncos QBs coach

Webb is already getting head coach interview opportunities around the league, and there’s been nothing but gleaming reports of his impact and growth as an assistant. As my A to Z Sports colleague AJ Schulte has noted, there’s exciting upside with Webb as an OC.

“Webb has called plays before in the preseason, and several players have raved about his ability as a coach in terms of maximizing players and his understanding of sequencing plays. In one source’s own words, “he has learned the right things from Sean Payton”. Given what he’s done to get the most of Bo Nix, I’d be hard pressed to disagree.” — Schulte

In any case, these are some of the top names that the Eagles may take a look at after moving on from Patullo as their offensive coordinator. We’ll see if he stays on staff in some capacity, since that has not been ruled out by Nick Sirianni or the organization as of yet.
