49ers prepare for life after Trent Williams and George Kittle, give Brock Purdy a new best friend in 7-round 2026 NFL mock draft
The latest 7-round 2026 NFL mock draft keeps the winning window open for the San Francisco 49ers.
After an embarrassing 41-6 playoff loss to the division rival Seattle Seahawks over the weekend, the San Francisco 49ers now become a team in a very difficult situation. With head coach Kyle Shanahan and quarterback Brock Purdy still in place, this does feel like an organization that still has their winning window open, but things are starting to close very quickly.
This has been a team that has been decimated by injuries over the last couple of seasons, with the roster seemingly getting older and more injury prone with every blink of an eye. In order for this team to keep that winning window open as long as possible, general manager John Lynch must work his magic this offseason. Filling holes in this roster is a massive priority.
The 2026 NFL Draft could be a major help to this team maintaining their winning expectations. In the latest 7-round 2026 NFL mock draft, the 49ers had to start thinking about life after a couple of legends, while also continuing to build the offense around Purdy.
San Francisco 49ers mock draft
Round 1, Pick 27: Caleb Lomu, OT, Utah
With star left tackle Trent Williams aging quickly, it would be smart for the 49ers to begin figuring out his future replacement. Lomu is a talented blindside protector, who also has enough size and raw power to potentially fill a couple of other positions until Williams hangs it up.
Round 2, Pick 59: Eli Stowers, TE, Vanderbilt
While George Kittle is still a tremendous tight end when healthy, the constant injuries are beginning to become worrisome. Stowers is an outstanding pass catcher who could provide a huge boost to Purdy, seemingly fitting the offense perfectly as an after catch dynamo.
Round 3, Pick 90: Antonio Williams, WR, Clemson
If not for some durability concerns, Williams would have gone a bit higher. He excels after the catch, which is a big part of the Shanahan offense.
Round 4, Pick 127: Malachi Lawrence, EDGE, UCF
With the injuries for star pass rusher Nick Bosa, as well as rookie Mykel Williams, adding some insurance on the edge would be smart. Lawrence is a long and explosive pass rusher who seemingly still has a lot of upside to tap into.
Round 4, Pick 133: Davison Igbinosun, CB, Ohio State
From a physical perspective, there is a lot to love about Igbinosun. He possesses an outstanding combination of size, length, and long speed. If he could ever become less grabby and better locating the football in the air, he has a lot of potential to work with.
Round 4, Pick 138: Trey Zuhn, IOL, Texas A&M
A left tackle with the Aggies, Zuhn is going to hit inside on the NFL. He should, at worst, become a valuable swing player inside who could also get you out of a game as an emergency offensive tackle.
Round 5, Pick 171: Bud Clark, S, TCU
Clark has some very intriguing fluidity and ball skills, which could project well in sub. The issue is that Clark is a very thin safety who will never offer much in terms of physicality.
