Miami Dolphins WR Tyreek Hill always knows how to get a stir out of Kansas City Chiefs fans.

In his latest antics, Hill reacted on X (formerly Twitter) to the news that the Chiefs had hired Eric Bieniemy as their new offensive coordinator. Hill, of course, played in Kansas City under Eric Bieniemy from 2018 through 2021 during his first stint as offensive coordinator with the club. During that span, Hill enjoyed what were some of the best years of his NFL career, averaging over 85 catches, 1200 yards, and nearly 11 touchdowns per season.

“EB to the Chiefs hm,” Hill wrote.

Naturally, some Chiefs fans took notice of the comments and couldn’t help but think about a potential reunion with Hill. That might be reading too much into the comment, though. In the 24 hours prior, Hill was tweeting the exact same thing about his former Miami Dolphins HC, Mike McDaniel, who landed an offensive coordinator job with the Los Angeles Chargers.

One thing is for certain: Hill has the past and his former coaches on his mind.

Tyreek Hill probably should be thinking about his NFL future after life with the Dolphins

Entering into the 2025 NFL season, Tyreek Hill’s contract was already something on the radar for the Dolphins in 2026 because Hill is owed a staggering $36 million in non-guaranteed salary. The likelihood of an amended contract or his release only increased after Hill suffered a devastating season-ending knee injury. However, after the firing of HC Mike McDaniel and GM Chris Grier, the connections keeping him in Miami are slim to none. The hiring of GM Jon-Eric Sullivan and HC Jeff Hafley from the Green Bay Packers organization suggest that Hill will be a salary cap casualty and a free agent as he looks to bounce back from a career-altering knee injury. And who would be likeliest to take a chance on a player like Hill, coming off of an injury that serious? Probably a team that has coaches who are familiar with him.

All of that said, any talks of a reunion are entirely premature. Hill is still under contract with Miami, has a long road to recovery from his knee injury, and likely won’t be ready at the onset of the 2025 NFL season. The Chiefs also have a brand new wide receivers coach in town in Chad O’Shea. I’d wager that he’s more interested in getting the current crop of wide receivers to reach their ceiling rather than reliving the glory days.
