Romeo Doubs had a good run with the Green Bay Packers. A fourth-round pick out of Nevada, the wide receiver played the last year of Aaron Rodgers in Green Bay and Jordan Love’s three starting seasons, becoming a reliable if unspectacular piece of Matt LaFleur’s offense.

Now, that period is coming to an end. Doubs is slated to hit free agency, and the Packers have a plan in motion to replace him — the team prioritized extending Christian Watson last offseason, and that was right after drafting Matthew Golden and Savion Williams in the first three rounds.

Spotrac projects Romeo Doubs to get a four-year, $48 million contract, and his $12 million yearly average isn’t cost prohibitive — but the value can go much higher than that on the open market.

So, let’s discuss five potential landing spots for Doubs outside of Green Bay.

Tennessee Titans

Most cap space, last in EPA/play on third down. That’s the perfect combination to make an investment on Doubs, who was a reliable weapon for Jordan Love on key downs. The Titans need to give young quarterback Cam Ward weapons to succeed, and new head coach Robert Saleh worked on the Packers late in the 2024 season as an offensive analyst — giving him a particular familiarity with Doubs that can help in the free agency process.

Buffalo Bills

The lack of wide receiver talent was decisive for the Bills’ failures in 2025. The team had to rely on players like Brandin Cooks and Mecole Hardman down the stretch. While Doubs isn’t necessarily a high-end weapon for Josh Allen, the MVP needs someone to trust, and Doubs could complement the skill set of players like Khalil Shakir and Josh Palmer.

Kansas City Chiefs

The Chiefs are $62 million over the cap for 2026, dead last in the NFL. So it’s going to be hard to make significant investments. However, teams can easily manipulate the cap for specific reasons, and the Chiefs need more offensive weaponry around Patrick Mahomes. KC was 24th in EPA/play on third down, and Doubs could help them improve in this area.

Pittsburgh Steelers

Doubs played with Aaron Rodgers in 2022, and even though their relationship wasn’t that great, the Steelers were one of the teams mentioned in rumors to acquire the receiver last season. Even if Doubs arrived in Green Bay well after Mike McCarthy was gone, there is some language crossover, and he could execute a part of the offense that DK Metcalf isn’t suited for.

Washington Commanders

The team made a big financial investment to acquire Deebo Samuel, and Terry McLaurin is 30 already. It would be smart to make more of a long-term investment in a younger player like Doubs, and spending resources on offense while Jayden Daniels is still inexpensive is a sound roster-building strategy.
